On February 19, 2025, as part of the DARYA project, a presentation of survey results among college graduates and employer enterprises took place. The study was conducted by the European Training Foundation in collaboration with the Akhmet Baitursynuly National Center for Education Research and Evaluation (“Taldau”) and other partners.
The DARYA project is a regional initiative of the European Union aimed at supporting youth in Central Asia, promoting inclusivity, and developing labor market skills. The pilot studies presented the following results:
Module 1 – “Survey of College Graduates”, implemented by JSC “Taldau” and NGO “Talap”. The results were presented by “Taldau” specialist A. Kussainova.
Module 2 – “Survey on Employee Competencies at Enterprises”, conducted by the “KazLogistics” association with the support of international expert Ina Pitchmann.
Data analysis identified key trends in employment and the demand for skilled workers in Kazakhstan’s transportation sector. The pilot survey results highlighted the importance of developing specialized personnel in the context of digitalization and automation. Employees require not only technical skills but also cognitive abilities such as critical thinking and teamwork. Small and medium-sized enterprises need more opportunities for professional training of their employees.
Flexible labor structures and adaptive strategies can help reduce labor market instability. Investments in workforce skills development will ensure the industry’s sustainability. The year 2025 has been declared the “Year of Vocational Professions” in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the importance of technical and vocational education and graduate monitoring.
International expert Ina Pitchmann presented analytical reports and recommendations based on the survey results. Participants emphasized the need for continued cooperation to improve the effectiveness of specialist training.
