On March 6, 2024, an expert discussion in the format of a round table on the topic of “Protecting the rights of children in the secondary education system” was held in Astana. The organizer of the event was JSC "National Center for Research and Evaluation of Education "Taldau" named after Akhmet Baitursynuly.”
The opening speech was made by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Taldau, Asel Kambatyrova. The Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nasimzhan Ospanova, in her presentation raised topical issues in the field of protecting children's rights. Olga Ryl, head of the public foundation “Pravo,” presented report on the role of NGOs in protecting children’s rights. Anar Tanibergenova, the Director of the Center for Theory and Methods of Education of the National Academy of Education named after Y. Altynsarin, made a presentation on the concept of “Unified Education”.
As part of the round table, the chief analyst of Taldau, Nadezhda Dybachevskaya, gave a presentation on bullying and child safety through the prism of international research; Taldau specialist Aya Kazbekova presented report on collecting data on violence against children.
The event was attended by a number of experts from governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as representatives of the media.
The round table was initiated by JSC "National Center for Research and Evaluation of Education "Taldau" named after Akhmet Baitursynuly" to promote the principle of "Law and Order" in the secondary education system.
During the expert meeting, current issues were discussed and proposals were presented to develop an uncompromising attitude towards all types of offenses, to develop a culture of respect for the law, and to educate the younger generation according to the values of a responsible citizen.
The recommendations of the experts will be taken into account by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to further improve the system for protecting children's rights in secondary education.
